It's crazy that I set this echo up years ago for the bbs-scene.org project
and that its still somewhat active.

There are systems connected. It wasn't active. The previous message in here was
over a year old...

The irc network is also still up. But it's now more of a synchronet thing. Or
maybe it's not the same network, but it's succesor. Don't know, but in my setup
it's still named "bbs-scene". ;)

Bye, Wilfred.

Yeah, I remember a few of the people who hung around on it took up the
mantle of keeping it going.

You are 100% correct. I see my kids and their use of social media apps like
instagram and snapchat. When I try to explain that i used a network like
fidonet when I was a kid they look at me weird. They can't comprehend that
one computer would call another using the telephone line to send mail all
around the world.

It made me miss it, so I came back!

Hell ya. With this hobby dying as it is, it's great to see people still
active from other zones.
