Of course Chat Rooms identify people by name, so some sort of login is
necessary. But back when you and I first started Espomen here, you told me how
to get to a generic Chat Room by entering first from the web, without Telnet,
and David Overley and I tried it out. It worked. Just the one Chat, not a
separate personalized one, but that's all we need.

In the meantime, my Ubuntu 16.04 has been unable to log on to filegate.net for
at least the last several months, though web login works fine for messages and
files; and both the US and worldwide Mensa hosts have stopped letting me into
their chat rooms. THE US MENSA one farmed the whole operation out to an
outside service that rewrote it all from scratch and never got around to
re-installing Chat, they seriously don't believe that anyone uses that stuff
any more, despite repeated requests. -- I think there and here and worldwide
Mensa are three separate problems that all came together at the same time, very
inconvenient for the weekly Espermenso Chat; which would be today (2017 Aoril 7
Friday).

Any help would be appreciated

Zorgu.
