...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM A PORTION OF
THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL PLAINS INTO THE MIDWEST AS WELL AS ALONG
THE MID ATLANTIC COAST...
...SUMMARY...
Scattered severe storms will persist through mid evening along the
Middle Atlantic coastal area before moving offshore. Isolated to
widely scattered strong to severe storms producing large hail and
damaging wind will persist into late evening from the southern
Plains into the Midwest region.
...Southern and Central Plains through the Midwest region...
Have included a small slight for severe supercell storm moving
southeast through western KS. The 00Z RAOB from DDC indicates an
inversion around 750 mb at the base of the elevated mixed layer.
While this storm may survive and continue to pose a threat for large
hail and damaging wind next hour or two, current thinking is that
convective inhibition associated with a stabilizing boundary layer
should result in the demise of this storm before 03Z.
Elsewhere numerous storms continue to develop along remnant outflows
as well as along quasistationary front from OK into KS and northeast
into the southern Great Lakes. The threat for isolated damaging wind
and large hail will persist through much of the evening, but an
overall weakening trend should commence as the boundary layer begins
to stabilize.
...Middle Atlantic Coast...
Threat for mainly damaging wind will persist with line of storms
along the VA coast during the next hour, but activity should be
offshore by 02Z.
